Abia State Governor Alex Otti has hit back at his Imo counterpart Hope Uzodimma, who claimed all five south-east governors have resolved to support President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid, saying Uzodimma “can’t speak for everybody.”
Speaking during his July media briefing in Umuahia, Otti said while Uzodimma has the right to express his opinion, the people will ultimately decide at the ballot box. He reiterated his support for some federal economic policies but noted that his Labour Party would support its own presidential candidate in 2027. Three south-east governors are APC members, while Otti belongs to LP and Soludo to APGA.
