BREAKING: Finally Real Madrid consider Osimhen to as replacement for unhappy Vinicius

Real Madrid appear to be preparing for a major shake-up in their attack, and the growing tension between Vinicius Jnr and head coach Xabi Alonso has only accelerated those plans.

With contract renewal talks now frozen and the Brazilian forward refusing to commit to a new deal, Los Blancos are reportedly looking toward a powerful and proven alternative: Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen emerges as Madrid’s preferred long-term striker

Spanish reports indicate that Real Madrid are weighing up a massive bid exceeding €100 million for Galatasaray’s in-form striker Victor Osimhen, a move seen as central to the club’s long-term tactical restructuring.

According to Fichajes, Madrid view the 26-year-old as the perfect centre-forward to restore balance to their attack, as his aggressive, instinctive style fits their need for a more consistent and physically dominant No. 9.

Osimhen has been electric since moving to Turkey, scoring nine goals in 12 matches across domestic and Champions League competition, and Madrid believe he could deliver immediate impact. The club also sees his arrival as the key to unlocking Kylian Mbappé, who has struggled when deployed centrally.

By installing Osimhen up front, Mbappé would be free to return to his preferred left-wing role, the position that helped his rise to global stardom.

The main obstacle, however, remains Galatasaray’s financial stance: having spent €75m to sign Osimhen from Napoli this past summer, the Turkish giants reportedly want at least €140m and refuse to negotiate below that figure.
Vinicius contract standoff pushes Madrid toward a new attacking era

While Madrid admire Osimhen on sporting grounds, his potential arrival also intersects with Vinicius Jnr’s growing unhappiness at the club.

The Brazilian’s contract runs until June 2027, but a renewal is now on hold after months of negotiations collapsed. Earlier in 2025, Real Madrid offered him a new long-term deal worth around €20m net per year, but Vinicius’s camp pushed for a package closer to €30m annually, a level comparable to Cristiano Ronaldo’s peak earnings.

Despite the financial gap, discussions continued until recently, when The Athletic reported that Vinicius privately told president Florentino Pérez he will not sign anything while his relationship with Alonso remains strained.

Their feud escalated during the recent El Clásico, where Vinicius stormed down the tunnel after being subbed off and accused Alonso of “always” substituting him. His public apology conspicuously omitted the coach’s name, and although Alonso insists the matter is “closed,” sources around the club say the tension is very real.

With Madrid unwilling to be held hostage by internal disputes and with Vinicius’s renewal uncertain, Osimhen has now emerged not only as a tactical upgrade, but potentially as the long-term successor to a player whose future suddenly looks less secure than ever.

“We are playing every two days, two days, two days. For a moment we looked like we struggled a bit.

“We were aggressive like them. We had different chances to make it 2-0 and when we conceded 1-1 the dynamic of the game changed a little bit.”
