Popular Nigerian content creator Adebayo Ridwan, well known as Bae U Barbie, has secured a commitment from Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, to appear on his popular YouTube show, Curiosity Made Me Ask.
The moment unfolded on Monday, October 19, 2026, during an interactive session at the Dangote Refinery in Lekki, Lagos, where media personalities and content creators toured the facility ahead of planned retail investment opportunities and the company’s anticipated Initial Public Offering (IPO).
Addressing the billionaire, Bae U pointed out that mainstream news platforms rarely connect with Gen Z and millennial audiences who are eager to learn about business, industrial growth, and wealth creation directly from industry leaders.
“You don’t have to stand, sit down, it’s fine. Most of the interviews we see you in are on the platforms that my generation doesn’t watch. I think it’s high time we had the man with the biggest refinery on the biggest show on YouTube. Curiosity made me ask, when do you think we can have you, sir?” Bae U asked.
Responding to the unexpected invitation, the chairman of Dangote Group acknowledged the media gap and accepted the request, stating that older generations have a responsibility to pass down business insights to young people.
“Honestly, the future that we have is actually you, the youth. We, our own generation, really, we have not really done very well for Nigeria and also for Africa. That’s the truth. So we need to sit down with some of you and discuss our own experience with you,” Aliko Dangote said.
The billionaire added that he wants the upcoming interview to be an open conversation where young citizens can freely ask questions regarding his business journey, his Vision 2030 industrial growth plans, and how he built his conglomerate from scratch.
“So really, you are right. Going forward, this sort of audience is the audience that we, somebody like me, should actually face… We will come,” Dangote assured.
Bae U’s show, Curiosity Made Me Ask, has grown into one of Nigeria’s most-watched digital comedy and interview formats, having previously hosted high-profile figures including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and top entertainment personalities.
