A 23-year-old man, identified by police as Jabesi Henderson, has died after being stabbed during an alleged altercation at Nathenje in Lilongwe on Sunday.
Lilongwe Police Station spokesperson Hastings Chigalu said the incident occurred after a fight allegedly broke out between Henderson and Nimiladi Chinjani at a shop in Pitros Village.
According to Chigalu, Chinjani reportedly left the scene, went home to collect a knife, and later returned before allegedly stabbing Henderson once in the chest. The suspect fled immediately after the attack.
Henderson collapsed after sustaining the injury and lost consciousness due to heavy bleeding. He was rushed to Nkhoma Mission Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, ‘see the incident video here‘ who remains at large.
