Police in Chitipa have arrested two men, George Kalinga, 41, and Brighton Mwamphachi, 45, in connection with the alleged murder of 60-year-old Flaywell Sichalwe at Yanga One Village under Senior Chief Kameme.
Chitipa Police Public Relations Officer Rabson Mkandawire said the incident occurred on June 30 this year after the deceased reportedly went out for a beer drink. The following morning, his body was discovered lying in a pool of blood inside his house.
Mkandawire said a post-mortem examination conducted by medical personnel from Kameme Health Centre established that Sichalwe died from severe loss of blood, prompting police to launch investigations that led to the arrest of the two suspects.
The suspects, who are both from Ipenza 6 Village under Senior Chief Kameme, are expected to appear in court soon to ‘see the incident video here‘ answer a charge of murder.
