During an interview on Channels Television on Friday, June 5, 2026, Nyesom Wike reaffirmed his position on the controversy surrounding the recent attack in Oyo State, insisting that he had no intention of retracting or modifying his earlier remarks despite the criticism they generated.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory said his comments were deliberate and reflected his personal conviction on the matter.
