Oyo School Kidnap: Three Suspects Face Trial Over Abduction of Pupils and Teachers

The Federal Government has arraigned three men, Abdulrazak Umar, Yunusa Musa and Shamsu Adamu Saniโ€”on a 10-count charge over the abduction of pupils and teachers from schools in Oriire Local Government Area, Oyo State.โ€‹

The defendants, all from Suleja LGA of Niger State, face charges of terrorism, kidnapping, concealment, incitement and illegal mining before the Federal High Court in Abuja. Umar is also known as Abu Khalifa, Musa as Yunusa bin Musa, and Sani as Abu Itisar.

The prosecution alleged they conspired with Muhammad Sani, Jibril Mohammed and Ibrahim Khabab between January and May 2026 to abduct the victims. The charges contravene the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.
